NEL Gastransport and OPAL Gastransport to offer capacities via Hungarian RBP

Marketing of capacity products in Greifswald via RBP from 1 January 2021

Kassel. Effective 1 January 2021, NEL Gastransport GmbH will market entry capacities at the cross-border interconnection point Greifswald NEL and exit capacities at the network point Greifswald IKG via the Hungarian capacity booking platform RBP (Regional Booking Platform). So far, these capacities have been offered via PRISMA. From the specified date, OPAL Gastransport GmbH & Co. KG will also market entry capacities at the cross-border interconnection point Greifswald OPAL via RBP.

Andreas Wendler, Managing Director of OPAL Gastransport, is pleased with the additional option for marketing transport capacities: “Thanks to RBP, we have now found another reliable service provider alongside PRISMA for marketing our capacity products.” Igor Uspenskiy, Managing Director of NEL Gastransport, agrees with this assessment: “Marketing capacities via RBP has already been working smoothly at the German-Polish border in Mallnow since this summer.”

The entry capacities at the points Greifswald NEL and Greifswald OPAL will be offered via RBP for the first time in the auction for the gas day 1 January 2021. The respective auction will start on 31 December 2020, at 4:30 p.m. CET. All following auctions for these points will run on RBP in accordance with the applicable auction calendar.

Effective 1 January 2021, available exit capacity at the network point Greifswald IKG will be allocated in chronological order according to the receipt of the respective binding requests submitted to NEL Gastransport GmbH via RBP.

Prior registration on RBP and subsequent authorization will be required to be able to make capacity bookings at the Greifswald NEL, Greifswald OPAL and Greifswald IKG points from 1 January 2021.
